Moving On To BHASVIC

Welcome. This webpage gives you a step-by-step guide through activity we have designed for your transition to BHASVIC this September.

We have 5 steps for you to complete.

Step 1: Short film clips to welcome you to Moving On activity by the Principal and a little more information and advice about the tasks from the Deputy Principal.

Step 2: Wellbeing webinars: Recordings of the two webinars about your transition to sixth form study and advice on how to navigate these next steps.

Step 3: Course Intro and Summer Work: provided for each course, and designed to give you further insight into studying your chosen courses at this level.

Step 4: Help and Support

Step 5: Remaining Tasks and General Information: Finally, at the end of this page is a list of things we need you to do – please check this and complete any remaining tasks. Information about GCSE Results Day, Enrolment and other sources of help complete this step.

Step 1 : Moving On To BHASVIC Week short films

Step 2 : Wellbeing Webinars

As part of our Moving On events, we have been working with Andrew Wright, founder of Action Your Potential, and BHASVIC’s wellbeing partner. Andrew, and a member of our Student Journey team, James Barton, are providing a series of Wellbeing Webinars designed to help new students prepare for and successfully navigate their transition to sixth form study.

Step 3 : Course Intro and Summer Work

The introduction films should be watched this week and then each course has provided some work for you to complete over the summer holidays, so that you can start BHASVIC with confidence.

Log in to BHASVLE using the BHASVIC Student and Staff login button and enter your BHASVIC log in details (emailed to you in June).

On the BHASVLE home page:

  1. You should see a blue menu on the left that slides in and out. If you don't see it click on the burger menu at top left.
  2. Click on Moving on and Summer Work 2021 under My courses.
  3. Read the message on the Moving on and Summer Work 2021 page.
  4. Watch the video and complete the summer work for the courses that you want to study at BHASVIC.
  5. Bring the summer work with you to your first lessons in September.
Step 4 : BHASVIC Help

See below for how to get help:

No access to IT at home: If you are finding it difficult to access your Moving On to BHASVIC activities, because you have limited access to IT resources at home, then please contact the college on 01273 552200 and let Reception know your circumstances – they will put you in contact with Student Services. Alternatively, if you are able to email, contact studentservices@bhasvic.ac.uk, giving a phone number, and one of our Guidance team will call to find a way to support you.

BHASVLE Support: If you have problems accessing the online Course Intro and Summer Work, please email Julia on j.holgateturner@bhasvic.ac.uk who will be able to help.

Admissions FAQs: there are two important pages on our website for all admissions-related information – the Admissions Page and the FAQs page > Admissions accordion.

General Help: If you are too late to use the helpdesk, don’t worry – instead you can email admissions@bhasvic.ac.uk with your query.

Step 5 : Remaining Tasks and General Information

New Student Survey: Please complete the New Student Survey if you hadn’t yet done so. You are best completing this with a parent or carer as there may be questions you are unsure how to answer.

Photograph Upload: Instructions on how to upload your BHASVIC college student photograph, used for your ID badge and the college information systems, was sent to your new BHASVIC Student Email account. Details of how to access your BHASVIC account were sent to the email address you gave to us on your application.

Sports Trials: If you are interested in trialling for Woman’s Football or Netball, please can you register your interest with the following staff members by Wednesday 30 June who will then provide you with more information about the trial process before Tuesday 6 July.

You do not need to register your interest in sports trials for Basketball, Men’s Football or Rugby in advance of September (when these trials will be going ahead). Instead, further information will be available at Enrolment in late August.
